Fave harvest Moon Game July 10, 2010 Karen Martin Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life is, I think, the best Harvest Moon ever.
You're in Forget-Me-Not Valley. Your father has died and you have come to take over a farm. Your dad's friend is there to help you. He isn't really that helpful. You're job is to simply live. You can focus on just animals or just crops. You can also do a little of both. One minus is you cannot upgrade your current buildings. You can buy new things but not upgrade what is already there.
Time within the game is each second = one minute. Time doesn't stop indoors- one of my liked parts.
There are four seasons in a year. Each season is 10 days. At the end of each year you go to a new "chapter". Each chapter has a lot of changes packed into it.
The first chapter your all alone and take over a farm.
In this chapter, if you want to continue the game, you must woo one of three men.
The rest of the chapters revolve around your son growing up.
This is one con. You can only have a son. Also, you can only have one.
Favorite Features: Using the diary next to your bed you can bring up a menu with bars. These bars are very helpful. They show you what your child likes the best, your spirit, and a few other things.
You can buy new outfits and colors of rugs and bedding.
They finally added being able to train your dog tricks. You can also bring your cat and dog indoors.
Some Harvest Moon fans dislike this game. It IS very different from most Harvest Moon games. The time going by seconds instead of by blocks of ten is different. The chapter system is also not seen in other Harvest Moon games.
I like it for these very reasons. You get to see a whole town and your child grow from young to old.
Another Harvest Moon Title June 4, 2010 Tyanna Giles (Cedar City, UT) Harvest Moon doesn't change much but I did like playing a girl for once and I felt more invested in this one because unlike A Wonderful life you have to work for everything, even the best field.
Harvest Moon Addicit! May 13, 2010 Patricia L. Moore (Henderson, NC) I LOVE Harvest Moon games. If you do too GET THESE GAMES! You will love them!
Lots of fun! March 4, 2010 Lavern Ferguson (Daughter writing review)
This was my first HM game, and I love it! I don't understand why a lot of people are claiming this and A Wonderful Life to be the worst games in the HM series. I found it alot of fun to plant and grow my own things, and take care of farm animals. Talking to the people around town and getting my own husband was lots of fun too! I really enjoyed seeing your child grow up, and couldn't wait for one year in the game to come to an end so I could see what happened next. I enjoyed the music, and I did not have any real problems with the game.
I'd recommend this if you are a HM fan.
Played it but Never Completed It February 7, 2010 C. Harvey First off I have never finished the entire game. That is one of the only things I dislike about this game, it takes forever to finish. Over all though I do like the game.
Pros:
-Fun
-Perfect for kids
-The plot is ok but it is hard to win all the animals without... cheating.
-Colorful
-Character is cute :)
-Gives a sense of pride
Cons:
-When it is evening it is hard to see
-It takes forever to complete
I have had this game forever and I have played it to chapter 3 but then there was a glith and I had to start over. I have never gotten it that far again.
As I had said above there are a lot of little extra animals to win but you have to befriend everybody which involves some looking up to see what people like. You also are able to win extra tools and nic-knacks from the other townspeople. But I have never been able to get anything except the cat. The game is fun and sometimes addicting but after hours of playing and not getting very far it gets a bit boring.
