Experience the World Cup on your PS3 August 11, 2010 D. Linares (San Antonio, TX) I wasn't a big soccer fan, but the World Cup this year got my attention. In turn, I downloaded the demo for 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa on the PS3. While the demo was limited to two teams (Spain and Italy), I played it over and over again. Wanting to play as the USA and play in a World Cup tournament, I deceided to buy the full game. And I wasn't disappointed. The gameplay was excellent but the opportunity to play as any of the nearly 200 countries while trying to qualify for the World Cup. I learned a lot more about the game of soccer and how much fun it is to play in a video game.
There needs to be a cessation class for this game!!! August 9, 2010 Kira This game is just as addicting as FIFA10. The graphical improvements in the players and in the depth of the pitch is very welcomed. Playing this game, you can actually feel the players running on the grass, visually and physically.
One of the gripes I have, and it's not entirely the game's fault. The Japanese national team isn't authentic at all aside from player names and numbers. The only Japan player I see truly resembled in this game is Shunsuke Nakamura. Please pay more than Konami next time! Oh and also include features like being able to customize real players. Like I wanted to fix Fernando Torres' haircut but the game didn't allow me. I don't think previous FIFA games did either.
Well, to sum it all up, I have it for the PS3 and the game loads at a respectful speed. I can't say much more because this game is very addicting. You can invite your friends to the house and you guys will be glued to this for hours and hours. Just make sure you go to work in the morning haha.
I cannot wait for FIFA11!
Soccer at it's best but... August 6, 2010 KK15 PROS:
Presentation
Menus designs
Graphics and animations
Soundtrack is stellar
Celebrations
CONS:
Laggy online gameplay(really big issue)
Some trophies don't pop
My first soccer game since the PSOne days and it really impressed. The gameplay is totally addictive and never gets old (at least for me). Awesome presentation filled with the spirit of the World Cup and one of the best music selections ever made. The online gameplay is a pain in the a$$ and the reason why I lowered 1-star. So time consuming to find a fitting opponent ;EA should have added some filters. For example, Im playing with a 1-star team and always the system seems to match me with a 5-star teams, this makes a hard quest for the trophy hunters. The online portion is also filled with connectivity errors and lagging, completely horrible experience I had. There are some exceptions where you get lucky and team up with the right opponent with the right connection and thats when it gets a hell of fun.
I really recommend this game!!!! Go buy it if you are searching for a genuine soccer experience!!!!
Great game, good graphics, great atmosphere! July 13, 2010 Serstillen (VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this game now for about 3 weeks and I have to say that I love it. With the excitement of the World Cup going on, it was neat to see how Fifa tried to create the same world virtually. Graphics wise it is excellent, someone earlier complained about the graphics being 720p well so was Fifa 09 and 2010??!! You don't notice it anyway, and the closeups of the coaches are awesome as the detail is accurate to what they actually look like.
Gameplay: Is just like Fifa 10. my only complaint would be that (like Fifa 10) the automatic changing of players is annoying. It wont let me pick the guy I want every time. Overall gameplay is just as good as Fifa 10.
Negatives:
if I had to pick any it would be the above mentioned gameplay and the price. 60 bucks is a little steep for this game. Its a great game but being that the World CUp happens every 4 years it seems alittle crazy to charge that much. Say 49.99 or 39.99 for the game would be nice.
Positives:
Graphics, gameplay, realness of the game and the crowd. Being able to listen to every national anthem of all the countries along with interesting statistics about the country.
Overall fun game!!
Excellent Game!! July 13, 2010 Tammy Gada This is an awesome game for any soccer fan. An absolute must buy. Great graphics. A great game overall. 10 out of 10 Rating.
