I ordered the 2008 Old Version based on the reviews of bad changes for newer versions and reading that the 2008 version would work in Windows 7. I ordered a new computer for my 83 year old mother and knew she LOVED the Hoyle card games and wouldn't be happy with a new machine that didn't have her card games on them. Imagine our disappointment when we tried to install the games - and lo and behold - the disk was for Hoyle Card Games 2009 - not the one I ordered at all. AND - it would not install on Windows 7 at all. In fact, it froze the computer and we spent over an hour on the phone with the computer's tech support.
This is the first time I've ordered through Amazon and NOT received the product I ordered. Shame on Hoyle games for not being prepared for the world of Windows 7 and for creating a disk that doesn't even tell you that it is incompatible with the operating system on the machine. We spent hours thinking the computer was defective when it was the WRONG Hoyle product shipped to me that was defective the whole time. She's not using her new computer because we couldn't install her games on it. What a disappointment.
I hope I'll be able to return the Hoyle games - because it is useless to us and the wrong version on top of it.

this program really messed up the operations of our new mac mini, we uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. it would work for a little bit and then wouldn't shut down and we had to turn off the machine and uninstall it again. my husband loved the games but not the trouble.

I bought this game (MAC version) because our 9 yr old wanted to learn to play pinocle. It's easy to navigate, the graphics/players are pretty basic & it has a ton of card games on it that even my 4 yr old loves to play. Definitely worth the money.

I like the card games, graphics and "Hoyle Bucks". My favorite is the Miami Solitaire, but It crashes around level 28 and I have never been able to finish all levels. I emailed Encore and was told that there was is no email or telephone support - the only support is found on the website. I had already looked at the website and the question I have is not answered there and the patches offered did not correct the problem.
